Microfluidic components
Microfluidics can for example be used in diagnostics, Lab-on-chip, insulin pumps, and micro fuel cells (MFCs). MultusMEMS help you to design and develop the miniature hardware in these systems. RF MEMS
MEMS components are interesting in RF systems due to their good properties.In a research project, co-financed by the Swedish Space Agency Board, MultusMEMS developed an electrical switch for controlling RF signals in satellites. The project was focusing on the ability to handle high-power RF (20-30 W). The project utilized a strong miniature multi-stable actuator to develop a switch/varactor. The switch was successfully tested to switch 100 W DC. The result show that is possible to control high power, 100W is considerably higher than what is possible with other RF MEMS. The technology would be suitable for e.g. impedance matching in aerospace and telecom. The picture on the right shows a conceptual RF MEMS device with standard BNC connections.
